Weddings Near White Bear Lake: Venues, Charm & What Makes This Area Shine

White Bear Lake isn’t just a pretty backdrop—it’s an experience. Its quaint downtown, lake views, friendly community, and charm make it a wonderful place not just for weddings, but for the days surrounding your wedding too. Guests will love waking up the morning after, driving through the streets, grabbing breakfast locally, and soaking in that small-town, lakeside feel.

Here are some of our favorite wedding venues in and around White Bear Lake, what makes each special, and why they might be perfect for your big day.

Best Venue Picks Around White Bear Lake

Best Western Plus / White Bear Country Inn

If you want something convenient for your guests, this hotel is a great option. They offer shuttle service, which helps your guests get to and from the ceremony without the stress of parking or driving. Bonus: there are overnight stays, banquet spaces, and event services, which means people can linger, celebrate, stay over, recover, and have breakfast together the next day.

Dellwood Country Club

A venue we love for weddings. You do not have to be a member to book your wedding here. The country club is exquisite, offers fine dining that usually gets a 10/10, and has timeless spaces for ceremonies and receptions. If you appreciate attention to detail, architectural beauty, and a classic, upscale setting, this is a strong contender.

White Bear Yacht Club

One of my favorites for lakeside weddings. Here’s what I found out (and love):

  • It offers beautiful views of White Bear Lake, manicured gardens, sprawling lawns, and a waterfront dock.

  • The clubhouse has natural light and elegant details (grand staircases, large windows) that make photos magical.

  • You can host both ceremonies and receptions here, indoors or outdoors, which gives flexibility depending on weather.

  • Up to ~175 guests are accommodated comfortably, so it fits mid-size weddings well.

  • You no longer need to be a member to host your wedding here—so this opens it up to lots of couples.

North Oaks Golf Club / Country Club

Another gorgeous option. Here are the details:

  • It’s very scenic, with golf course views, outdoor patios, and beautiful natural light. Great for photos.

  • The dining and banquet rooms are strong—they serve quality meals, and the staff gets good praise.

  • Capacity is good for mid to larger weddings (around 150-200 guests) depending on which space you use.

  • On the membership front: there are membership requirements. But there are also social memberships and invitations to events; guests may need a sponsor or connection.

What Makes White Bear Lake Area Truly Special

  • Charm & Local Flavor: Guests can explore local shops, charming streets, and enjoy lakeside views. The area gives a relaxed yet beautiful vibe that’s different from “just another venue.”

  • Guest Convenience & Hospitality: Hotels like the Best Western® make things easier for friends and family traveling in. Shuttle services, overnight stays, places to gather after the wedding—these are all touches that make your wedding weekend more relaxing and memorable.

  • Flexibility of Venue Choices: Whether you want waterfront, country club, elegant ballroom, or something more rustic, there’s range here. That means you can pick a venue that fits your aesthetic, guest list size, and budget more precisely.

Tips for Choosing the Right Venue

Here are some things to consider when selecting a White Bear Lake venue:

  1. Capacity vs. Guest List — Make sure the venue can comfortably hold your number of guests, including space for ceremony, reception, dance, photos, and getting ready.

  2. Indoor & Outdoor Options — Minnesota weather can be unpredictable. Having both options (lakeside, patio, indoors) helps a lot.

  3. Catering & Food Quality — The food is something people remember. Venues like Dellwood Country Club, White Bear Yacht Club, and North Oaks Golf Club tend to have strong reputations here.

  4. Accessibility & Guest Logistics — Think about parking, shuttles, where guests will stay, how easy it is to get around.

  5. Vendor Policies & Fees — Some private clubs have more restrictive vendor rules or membership prerequisites; be sure to ask exactly what you need to do.

  6. Aesthetic & Photo Opportunities — Natural light, scenic backdrops, architectural details—all great for photos and the look/feel of the day.
